Team
Shannon Mullinax
Shannon is the broker in charge at Highland Real Estate Investors and is responsible for its overall growth and direction. She drives business through her extensive network of brokers, landlords, and tenants in the commercial industry. With more than 29 years of experience, she has mastered lease negotiations with national tenants as well as mom-and-pop startups and every business type in between. Her years as a CPA give her a unique advantage when it comes to understanding financials and analyzing properties to uncover cost savings, as well as pushing rents and recoveries from tenants based on lease terms. Her drive and desire to increase rents, operate with excellence, and optimize the tenant mix to fit the market and the property are unmatched by her competition. She is hands-on and detail-oriented, ensuring each client receives her expertise and attention in a way that larger firms cannot afford to provide.
Before founding the firm, Shannon worked for Kimco Realty (a publicly traded REIT) as a Director of Leasing with a portfolio of 4.3 million square feet. Her responsibilities included new tenant prospecting and lease negotiations, lease renewals, analyzing properties for repositioning through outparcel development, and assisting the acquisitions and dispositions teams through due diligence processes.
She is a member of the ICSC and the National Association of Realtors. Locally, she serves on the board of the Andrew P. Stewart Center and is a member of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce. Shannon enjoys fitness, hiking, gardening, and spending time with her husband and children.
Shannon earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of West Georgia.

Bert Mullinax
Bert Mullinax is an agent at Highland Real Estate Investors and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the commercial assets under management. He also serves as a residential agent, representing buyers and sellers throughout the South Atlanta and Middle Georgia markets.
Prior to joining the company, Bert ran the sales division for his family-owned industrial supply business in Chamblee, Georgia. His 28 years of experience in a client-facing role within a small business environment bring a competitive advantage to the firm. He attributes his success to being a trusted sales representative and engaging at every level of his clients’ operations to ensure satisfaction and exceptional service.
Bert is a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Heart of Georgia Board of Realtors. He enjoys fitness, fishing, leading Bible study groups, and spending time with his wife and children.
Bert earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from the University of West Georgia.

Mona Bloodworth
Mona is an agent at Highland Real Estate Investors and is responsible for the day-to-day management and accounting of residential and commercial assets under management. She also serves as a residential agent, representing buyers and sellers throughout the South Atlanta and Middle Georgia markets. As a licensed agent with more than 40 years of experience, her expertise and reputation in the industry are highly respected by her clients and fellow agents.
Mona has built her career on an extensive network of clients, including landlords and tenants who trust her ability to provide excellent service. She is knowledgeable and dedicates time to her clients in a way that builds trust and assures them of her ability to manage each task with professionalism.
Mona is a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Heart of Georgia Board of Realtors. In her spare time, she enjoys watching softball and spending time with her husband and extended family.
